My Comeback Story: Yvonne K.
I’ve had severe anxiety, depression & PTSD since I was 6yrs old. No one noticed my symptoms as they just thought it was what kids normally go through as they grow up. I finally started asking for help from my doctors and this started my path of understanding my mental illness at the age of 28. I am now 52yrs old as of tomorrow and 8 have tried as many prescription medications as has been offered to help me. I learned to listen to my mind and my body, to make sure I was on a medication that I could live with. I have accepted that there are times throughout the year that my medication, couseling aren’t, walking & yoga are not enough to bring up when I am downhill on my roller coaster of life. I have tried everything from ECT( electroconvulsive therapy), TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Stimulation) to Ketamine IV & Ketamine lozengers. For me the ECT worked in some ways, but caused me great frustration and anxiety due to the permanent memory gaps, inability to focus, multi task and so
many more areas of my life that created the person I was. I have learned to work with and for the most part except the abilities I have now. TMS worked for the first session of treatments, although I have learned that if my immune system is weak or run down my medications and the TMS treatments do not work for me. I was refered to Dr Reichbach about 2yrs ago after my TMS treatments didn’t work and I was going downhill fast. My TMS doctor mentioned ketamine IV treatments and that he could refer me. I did my research as I did with all my medications and treatments. Although, insurance doesn’t cover TMS IV, I decided for me it would be more effective than the nasal ketamine that insurance does cover. I am truly grateful for the ketamine IV treatments and the prescription ketamine lozenges. They bring me back up the other side of my rolled coaster and I have had no side effects from either. Dr Reichbach & Lolita have been angels in my treatment process. They both assure that I am comfortable and if I have any questions or concerns, that I am comfortable with the answers and information they provide.
